decited i would start a new thread on this anyhow i found that i can run E7018 in the 95-105A range with acceptable results

so fare i have tryed FirePower E7018 and Hobart 7018AC i did find that the hobart ran better then the firepower.. with this said i know the Hobart dose take more amps then the Lincoln to run it seems from what i have done in the past.. this was with 3/32 rods when i get some lincoln 1/8 7018 i will post my findings with this.. i will say i was finding out of postion welding to be a bit harder also lighting it up was not as easy but it can be done.. i think someone who was good at running 7018 would be able to weld just fine.. bottom line for me is i can run anything in 1/8 rods ie E6011, E6013, E7014, E7018

i finaly got some more 1/8 E7018 to test and here are my findings.. at 105A

Best running was Lincoln Excalibur E7018 MR
next was Hobart E7018
fallowed by Lincoln E7018AC and Firepower E7018

this stands to reason as the AMPs quoted for the E7018AC are a little higher on DC then there Excalibur MR

figured i would post this as someone might be running a machine that has bad duty cycles up high or is limited by a LOW amp braker IE running a buzz box on a dryer plug or generator
