Welcome to the forum. I did a quick check but didn't find anything about make and model. Does it weld?

Agreed, an inverter with DC output based on the marks on the electrical plate.

How did you come to have it, and does it have cables with fittings to weld? One will be a ground clamp and the other holds the electrode.

Ok, sounds like your machine needs a potentiometer.

If you'll google "2.2k potentiometer" you can view images to see which one is closest to the one you remember- there are several with holes.

Good luck- let us know how it goes!

So, cold solder joint?

A common flaw. A simple re-melt with a fully hot and properly tinned 35W soldering iron should have you up and going.

Adding a tiny dab of some fine rosin-core solder is never a bad idea, as there may be oxides inside the failed joint.
