So my employer sends us to get certified and we have to do horizontal, vert, and overhead all with 7018. Any good techniques for running this rod as an open root filler? Material is 1/2" thick. Thanks

I was said that whip and bead would cause inclusions or discontinuities if done with 7018.
As I get it, when using 7018, the rod do always stay at the edge of the puddle so that motion should not work I think

But , will it be possible with the 'rutilo cellulosic' types (strong percentage of cellulose, about 30% I was said)

Also, I noticed that progression up for vertical fillet without weave, in the booklet of smaw, by Miller
Chapter 3.15 and 3.16 for instance.

This comes from a 90degre then the hand make a small angle up so the arc lenghten and get out of the puddle, then back, to the crater (I suppose 1rod diameter above. (7810 for instance)

I suppose this is intended to use a fair amount of Amps so to dig, but keeping the heat constant (as when making U's with a 'leg' going high.)

Any hint? The manual is very well done despite being 1997.
