I am a beginner and don't know much about welding. I know I have the appropriate rods and volts but I'm really having difficulty getting a good bead without completely undercutting the metal or melting holes into it. any advice would help would be great considering that its my car and I need to get it going.
If you’re new to welding and trying to weld body panels on sheet metal, then I’d suggest using MIG as the welding process. It is the easiest to learn, allows a lot of wire to be shot to prevent blowouts and burn through, and can be the cheapest means of sticking metal together.
TIG welding body panels is not for the new welder without significant challenges and lots of repairs afterwards.
