My father in law recently found a Miller Thunderbolt at a garage sale for $20. Like a really old one, seems to be AC only, it has the rows of brass push in prongs for the leads. He wanted it to learn a bit of welding, just enough for minor repairs. I have a decent selection of rods in my shop, what would be a good all around rod for him to use?

On AC, 6013, 7014 and 6011 get it done for me :)

Really just 7014 and 6011 will fix any random home stuff and most farm stuff.

Anything that ends in an ODD number should work fine.
