I have a airco 250amp arc welder. It is an electric welder but I’m wanting to change it to gas powered so I can transport it. Is this even possible? And if so can someone give me some advice how to go at it. Thanks

I don't know if it's possible to make the welder into a generator welder, but no reason why you couldn't make a crate that permits you to hold a petrol generator that has the welder right next to it and simply plug it into the generator.

That's gonna be one heavy crate to hold a generator big enough to power that Airco that already takes up the space of a full size pallet! ChesterFab, what you need to do (IMO) is simply get rid of that Airco and buy an actual gas welder. Alternatively, you can get a decent size generator (at least 9 kW continuous) and then run an inverter welder off of it. That would be relatively easy to transport as most portable generators can be wheeled around, as opposed to an engine driven welder that is usually stationary in the bed of a pickup truck.
