i am going to purchase a new welder miller cst 280. does anyone out there have a welder like the cst 280, please give me your opinion. i own a miller syncrowave 180 sd bought new in 2003. from the first day tig would not work, stick has welded good. now as of about 2 weeks ago i am getting arc drift. i cannot complete a 6 inch carbon steel weld coupon without the arc drifting to the right. so i am trying to figure out which is the best choice for a new welder. thank you.

move the ground clamp to the other corner on days with a T in them...coil a few wraps of the ground lead around the table leg...this will increase electromagnet force and even out that "arc-blow" that you are experiencing....I am NOT a phD but i know a few tricks.

also try A/C, the fields never have a chance to effect your arc before it collapses.
