Greetings Everyone!

We have a small dirt workin biz and need to do some hard facing on some of our skid steer attachments.

Due to the fact that we have more time than money, I am searching for some substitute besides 7018
for building up wear areas on bobcat buckets and rakes.

We do have a really good 300 amp AC/DC stick/TIG machine.

So, what I am tryin to find out is what rod would be good to
build up and hard face buckets ect that dont cost $8+ per pound?

Thank you all in advance for your time, efforts and experience <3

Here is a link for Lincoln Electrics hardfacing rods. Just an example but I don't think there are a lot of options for cheap hardsurface rods. Most of them will have a higher percentage of chromium in there makeup along with other additives that make them more expensive. However they will protect much longer than just 7018.
I have more questions than answers

Lincoln Wearshield Mangjet is $191.00 50/LB* ($3.82 LB*) at my friendly local welding supply, but you're buying 50lb cans. You could also try 11018. S/F....Ken M
