Not much. Deburr and wire brush, wipe it and go to town. It gets hot so i cooled it in a bucket every now and then and brush again. It's actually not that hard. It wets out nice, unlike brass/bronze.

They poured the basement walls at my house on wednesday and as a favour i repaired their chute. It had a nice layer of concrete i had to chip off.
The braided stainless wire wheel worked well to remove the encrusted concrete.
Over all it welded better than i expected.

I had my machine set on 150 amps with 300pps, 60% peak and 15% background, so not really sure what the weld amps would be, didn't need full pedal, used .045 filler with #8 cup and gas lens

i'd bet those beams weigh in at 1 - 380. Definitely hold the house down during a wind storm.

Nice Simclardy, do you guys have black locust up there? I know there's a lot down in West Virginia, but didn't realize it was up in your parts as well. I guess you've eaten enough sawdust running your Alaskan today...
