I have a mid-80s Linde HF 250 TIG. My question concerns the Frequency Intensity setting knob. Does this change the frequency or the amperage of the hi-freq, or? Obviously I am unsure of what it does and the manual is not specific.
Thanks for any help.

It's actually just as it says - intensity (of the high frequency arc, not main power).

Turning it up makes a more intense, more powerful High Freq arc.

Basically you turn it up until it will reliably start the tig arc.

On older machines it's often just all the way up.
