Hi guys I weld a lot of aluminum and I have gotten accustom to the wet flowing puddle.
I have some repetitive 304ss jobs in the shop and I can’t get the hang of the stiff dead puddle.
When I try to dab and drag method my filler wants to stick in the puddle.

I done some research and found a 304 LSI filler rod claming to produce
wetter more fluid puddle.

Any one used this filler?

I am curious. Where did you find a 304 filler metal? The SI in LSI means that silicon has been added to improve wetting. It helps compared to standard stainless filler metal but it is still a little stiffer than mild steel.

I changed it the subject box as well.

I was gonna say, you would have been the first with a 304 filler. Yes, I have used it (308) and I don't mind it. It wets pretty good.

"I don't mind it" I'm confused, you like or don't like it?

I like it. Any time I can use a filler that wets better than another without compromising weld strength (when needed) I use it. Makes my job a whole lot easier.
