It could be worse. My son accuses me of acting like my mother. As an 86, year old she's meaner than average. It's not something I like to hear.

a 3" air grinder with a 1/16" or a 0.045" thickness abrasive wheel will quickly take care of a contaminated tungsten. In fact, that is what I use to chop up a tungsten on purpose for the electrodes on my 24 series torch, which have to be 1"-1.25" in length. I then chuck them up in a 9/20 pencil torch with the collet & collet body only, and use that as a tungsten holder in order to grind the tip without having to use my fingertips so close to the wheel.

When I read your post here, I thought you meant you already had a video of grinding tungsten up, but alas, you did not! Oh well, subscribed for more! And dude, I'm not gonna lie, when I saw that your other video was titled "How to Castrate a Bull the Right Way" I burst into a fit of laughter so violent the guy walking by my car on the sidewalk asked if I was going to be okay, because it looked like I was having a seizure

Here is how I hold my tungstens for sharpening. The air cooled 9 series pencil torch allows a full length 7" electrode to go all the way down the body so long as the power hose is not attached to the torch. Just put the collet & collet body in, tighten and give it a few turns on the grinder, and you're good to go.

. Nice thing about this is you can really put some pressure on it without any danger of the grinding wheel sending a tungsten through your hand.

I think the regular users here are all guilty of hijacking (I include myself) It does make for interesting conversation and most of the time we still learn something new.
