I have had mine for a year now and love it. It works great for TIG and stick. A friend of mine has one as well and he really likes it. He has used his pretty hard and no problems.

daulsport and oscar
is there a big learning curve?
i have a syncrowave 250 and it very easy
to set up and works great. moving out of
state soon and new shop is smaller so 40lbs
and smaller physical size is appealing.
thanks for your imput.

Not a big learning curve. The manual is good and easy to follow. You can download it from their website and have a look.

There are lots of settings, so if I haven't used a feature for awhile, I often find myself having a quick look at the manual. You can also store welding programs, so once you get the settings just right for something, you can easily recall them. The stored programs are just numbered, so if you use this feature you will need to keep a list of them.

The only other TIG machine I have used/owned is a Miller Diversion. I don't have a lot to compare it to, but it seems to weld nice.

I hope this helps...

Very Simple to operate. It has lots of things to adjust, but overall it is very easy to get to them. I can easily set anything and everything in about 15 seconds and that's if I need to go into the pulse settings or into the AC amplitude adjustment settings.

I love mine, easy to use/setup. Took awhile to get used to the interface as I was used to the dynasty 200 but everything is there. Their nice little machines.

I think it stick welds very well and seems very smooth, but then again, I don't have much to compare it to.

I have the water cooled version. The cooler is a bit loud, but it works well and I'm glad I have it.

Haven't done stick with it yet. I will concur that the water cooler is a bit louder than the miller equivilant

I have one and it's a good stick welder too. Smooth on DC stick. HTP is having a Black Friday Sale and they are about $200 less. Last year they ran out fast.

I was on the same boat as you, around this time last year. I sprung for the DV version, water cooled, and haven't looked back since. Awesome machine.

I have the HTP cooler. It's sweet. I wouldn't hesitate springing for the water cooled package.
