what is the best rod for tig welding a 4130 frame for a trike?
some of the baja forum guys say they weld it all day long with 309 ss rods.
I checked on the price for 309 and it is around 15 dollars a pound vs 3 bucks a pound for mild steel tig rod.
if i thought it was worth it, i would buy the 309.....

wyatt, get some e70s2 mild steel tig rod and call it a day. 309 works but if it cracks later on, you have to weld it with 309 again.
not worth the extra money in my opinion. 309 is great to have around though,..especially when you are not sure what you are welding.
