I want to put a custom seat on a kawasaki and it just requires a couple of small brackets welded to the frame rail. If it was a bare frame - no big deal. It would take 2 minutes.

But, the bike is all together and running. I read several opinions and there were recommendations on tig/mig/gas/brazing. If tig'ing it, what about the electronics? Can I just disconnect the battery and place the tig ground immediately next to the bracket as is often suggested?

Well ... I just saw another reference to disconnecting the battery and grounding tig as close to the weld as possible. So, I'm going to try that.

I have tigged migged and sticked on all sorts of vehicles and all i have done is disconnect the battery and have never had a problem. you'll be allright
