Hey guys,
I was just looking around at welders and hear a lot of people talking about millers pipe worx. How they use a RMD process Regulated Metal Deposit. How is this different from the rest of the welders??

It can be described as a 'colder' process than short circuit. It uses a technology like pulse and a volt sense lead to transfer the wire droplet similar to surface tension transfer. Useful also on very thin material. Not really something that is useful in everyday welding applications. I guess what I'm saying is you would know it if you needed it...

Along the lines of Lincolns STT (surface tension transfer) and kempii (among others, have similar set ups) all about making it easier and more efficient to weld root passes.

rmd works great for open root grove welds. allows you to sit in the center of the grove and get picture perfect root passes. Also works really well on thin ga sheets. 11ga - 22ga. Those pipeworx machines do a lot more then pipe and are very versatile. If your at a shop with one play around with it when you can. Just make sure you use 90/10 gas mix.
