i have 90amp mig flux cored .8mm or .031" welding 3mm near enuf to 1/8"

This is a lap joint it is 50mm x 50mm square 3mmT to 3mm box section joint

will this be ok strong enuff ?

if so what technique

To weld 3mm(approx. 1/8") with a 90 amp machine will depend on the Voltage Output of your machine. A good setting would be around 18v and 210ipm wire speed. That wire speed using .030 wire calls for about 80amps, so you will be operating close to it's max output. Measure your wire feed to get close to the feed rate and then make some final adjustments. awesome will give it a go might just do a fillet weld on a T and cut it and have a look at penetration

ok forgot i had no wire left lol

i had 6 metres coiled up on the wall so i did a wire feed speed test

on highest feed it is 530" per minute 53 " over 6 seconds

on highest output it is 18.5v @ 90 amps

is this okay you think ?
