I see at my local store and on line at times, these tapered contact tips for mig welding. what is the purpose of these and are they better, lesser or neutral vs using the regular square end contact tips. curious to know if there ar better tips out there, meaning the tapered ones.
Always keep your powder dry.

I used to use the tapered ones when I used the tapered outer cup for getting back in corners when I did production work.
I have more questions than answers

When welding pipe they are used a lot. Big tips just don't fit in the bevel.
