anyone on here from alaska? I have been talking to some distant family up there and will be applying to a few companies that hire welders for work on the north slope...any info would be much appreciated, beside its cold...i know, and i know that living in florida since '93 wont help, but theres work up there and i need work/money.
thanks!

Don't really know all that much but i was just talkin to a buddy who is welding pipe on the oil rigs in North Dakota and he said he was lookin at goin to Alaska till he found out that they're havin a lot of trouble with grizzlies up there, guess theres been like 7 or so welders eaten on the pipelines. Dono the whole story behind this but if you do go up there u might get yourself a little 18" 12 Gauge just in case.
Cheers

better make that a .308 :)

Anyway, Alaska is pushin HARD for a natural gas pipeline to run from Prudhoe Bay to Anchorage, right alongside the Oil pipeline that was built in the 50's.
Signature? Who needs a F***ing signature?
