What welding projects are you working on? Are you proud of something you built?
How about posting some pics so other welders can get some ideas?

The owner dropped this and it broke to pieces - several cracks in the remaining large piece too.
Speaker was $700 I'm told, and the manufacturer no longer makes the cage.

1963 Airco 300 tig, 1/8" pure tungsten, #7 cup, 20cfh argon, 230 amps max on 1/4" sections.

The coating was a super hard rubberized coating of some kind, took a wire wheel on angle grinder to get most of it - sand blast the rest - then die grind and cutter wheel to finish prep.

Maybe the owner could find some Plastidip in a matching color to finish it with.

Now go melt something.

Great repair! Did they blow it apart from competition? Have you guys seen what those bass competition vehicles can do so far as damage? It's crazy!! I few friends did it for a while and I couldn't even sit in the one car for very long at all.

Good idea - but I think he said carpet, and an enclosure, was going to cover most of it.

Thank you :)

From what he said, sounds like he just dropped it on concrete.

Those competitions are super crazy! But not very popular around here - thank goodness :D

I've been following, and I have to agree...

Cast aluminum is it's own special beast, and you've done a great job!
