microwave shelf

What welding projects are you working on? Are you proud of something you built?
How about posting some pics so other welders can get some ideas?

microwave shelf

Postby dmcnally » Thu Nov 02, 2017 6:06 pm

I made a microwave shelf out of 1x1x0.083 steel tube. I painted it with Rustoleum Hammered Black spray paint.

I'm a hobby welder and I don't have a welding table. I used a B&D Workmate with a 1x8x26 piece of aluminum for the table and I added some 1x1/4x18 aluminum bar as a jig.

Looks neat!

Personally I'd have flipped it around so the frame mounts to the wall under the 'table' section though..

That way you could add some gussets in the corner or 2 diagonal stays for some added support under the table and out of the way from the microwave itself when the inevitable junk starts piling up onto and around the microwave and the weight on top of the table goes up ;)

(or someone decides to use it as a seat/rest at some time... )

Bye, Arno.
