Chopping old smoked ESAB Power compact 250

Hello - please move this topic if I chose wrong place.

I managed to salvage old smoked and partly disassembled ESAB Power compact 250 mig from metal scrap. It seems that one of the big three coils have let the smoke out and wires are partly dissassembled. Otherwise it seems to have some nice usable parts.

I am planning to keep the 27/42 V transformer, 42V gas valve, diode plate, Strömberg OK 0 relay, and the wire feeder with 24V motor.

If somebody here in Finland or Europe have a need for the control card or the better looking coils and have guts to test them - please send me a message.

I am planning to use this gas control valve for argon and use it with my stick welder to make my first scratch TIG device - but being able to control gas flow with torch switch. First I need to buy also argon bottle and a tig torch (within few months now hopefully).

It seems that the valve accepts 42V 50/60 Hz = AC? but is it really used in these machines? I thought it would be DC but I am not an electrician. I understand something from simple DC electronics used in cars etc. and my first thought was to use some laptop charger and make simple torch switch to control it, but this valve seems to be for higher voltage...

If somebody have other ideas for using these parts - please be free to comment!

PS. I love also watching TPAI Youtube channel and I have always been very curious to open things up - if You wonder...

Nonetheless, that's some really good craftsmanship.
