This is my 2nd "build of something useful". The first was a stand for my HF portable bandsaw and this project came about with my wife asking for a bookshelf for Christmas. ofcourse it would have likely been much cheaper to buy something sold at a chainstore but I am happy with the way it turned out. I used Birchwood Casey's super blue to oxidize the metal in addition to several coats of clear coat for both the metal and "select pine".

Sweet! Doesn't feel good that you made it yourself?
Welcome to the board!

I certainly am proud of the fact I made it and so was my wife which was another perk for me. It's 1" .065 square tubing so I feared distortion and blow through along the way so I felt accomplished when it all came together. I don't think I could have pulled it off (had the confidence to buy a tig welder) without the videos from jody as i binged watched his videos for weeks.
