I recently ran across some reclaimed Douglas Fur a few weeks back for a somewhat reasonable price. It came off a dam when the dam was torn down and supposedly is around 90 years old. I'm not much of a wood worker but I wanted to try my hand at building an industrial table. Here is what I've come up with so far...

I spent a ridiculous amount of time taking the mill scale off in order to try my hand with this metal finish system.

The base is tig welded with regular ER-70 but all the 'face' welds are silicon bronze.

Yeah me too. I've watched all there YouTube videos and it seems like really cool stuff. Hopefully it turns out good.
