What welding projects are you working on? Are you proud of something you built?
How about posting some pics so other welders can get some ideas?

Well, it took a while and a couple revisions, but I finished my circle guide for my Powermax 45. Probably more HD than needed, but I always seem to over build!Image

Next, is putting it to work!

I need to design a guide wheel, the drag tip is not ideal for a smooth cut. The two handed approach, with one hand on the end of the rod, works okay. Cleaning the surface helps too!

But the swing rod may be a little spindly for rest of it

The rod is 1/4" hardened steel... it is quite stiff. I cut a 13" circle and was pleased. It will probably be good to 36" or more...

That's a really nice job, I'm trying to build one with an open center with a pointer.

Very nice design, probably cheaper than buying one, them things are expensive. :)

Thanks,
Everything was ordered from McMaster-Carr .... probably spent $50 with a couple revisions!

Should be easy enough for the center pin, but I wanted the magnet to help keep the torch vertical that is the main reason for the needle bearing holding the torch.

I like that. I built my own tig torch holder with one of those magnets and some scrap. I literally got done doing a cut out and looked at a couple pieces and thought that would work for a tig torch holder welded them and there it is. I didn't even finish it up. It looks nasty but works great. :D

Pretty Impressive Glen. Really nicely made, and using the magnet for the pivot is just perfect. Great job.
