I said it, and it works, you can weld so must faster, BUT! you have to use helium for shielding and you gotta clean off the oxides before you weld, don't use a regular grinding wheel, the fibers will get stuck in the aluminum and it will be terrible to weld. i use a flap disc, then i wire brush the piece. I swear on all that is Holy this can be done. The welds don't look as nice as a/c tig, but if you welding gussets on catamarans, no ones gunna see it, and plus u get 6 hours of work done in about half the time. it takes practice to get good at it tho.

If your talking about DCEN/ Helium on Aluminum, that process has been used longer than I can remember.. :)
