Green tungsten is not made for inverter machines. Get some layzr, E3 or throated, or even 2% lanthanated.

Re: C10 vs C25

Did some playing today as I brought my welder to the school to learn on, it's new. I had settings pretty decent for 1/8 and 1/4 coupons on C25 gas I wanted to see what just changing to C10 does and honestly I think I like C10 better. Seemed to produce less spatter, needed slightly less volts to get ...

Re: C10 vs C25

Yeah it's 26 week vocational training but I am in a 5 week mih skills course and they do have C25. Letting me bring my new welder so I can learn in that. I'll play around with C25 and C10 a bit I'm basically just doing whatever I find learningful cause I pretty much did what the book had already, I'...

Uphill kicking my ass

Man I moved on from horizontal spray transfer to dual shield uphill and it's kicking my ass here. Frustrating cause every once in awhile I'll get a perfect 3 inch 3 pass and then it all just goes to shit even though I feel like I am doing the same things. Any tips? I hear guys say stay ahead of the ...

Re: Dual Shielded FCAW Stops/Starts technique 🤔

I am in class now and fooled around with both I like staring little behind the crater you can start in front cold but if you are not fast enough you can build up too much material. So start s little off the crater and roll with it. That's what I have been doing that hit dual shield blends it in nice

Re: C10 vs C25

Well the school only seems to work with 3/8 and yes I want to practice thinner but thicker material is easier to practice on since it's more forgiving and fre material. I am mainly asking because I want to use my welder at school, if I'm going to learn mine as well learn on my own stuff. Mine will d...

Re: C10 vs C25

Yeah was t sure how shirt circuit would react it is large enough for spray transfer but it's pushing the upper limits. The lincolns we use are about 340 wire feed and 28V my everlast does 27.8 but I rather do shirt circuit as I'll never really have the need as a hobbyist for sprsy

C10 vs C25

As from my other posts I have decided to do a mig welding class. Now I ky 2 days into it but it seems more geared towards pipe jins, heavy jobs like bobcat etc. we are using 350A Lincoln's in spray transfer with C10. Now I have talked to my instructors and they maybe open for me to use my everlast 2...

Re: Gas plumes dangerous?

Well just found a really good deal on a very nice used lincold 3250D FGS with the papr ventilation system so yay me lol. Would have preferred the 3350 but at least the 3250 I can flip it up and just keep it on and cannot beat $1000 for it

I bout and sndeli helmet with the led and didn't help much, bout two clip on lights and lasted maybe 30min. Any idea for enough light I can use on a helmet? I ha...

Anybodycise Andeli or Yesselder PAPR helmets?

Looking for some filtration but for a hobbyist I'm not spending $1500+' on a helmet. Was looking at the Klein with the fan but I seen Yeswelder and Amdeli sell helmets with paper respirators. Anybody use those?

Ok hopefully not a dumb question. I started a mig skills class is only 5 weeks but first day today. Re: Critique my weld and recommend changes

Had 40 EP machine only goes down to 20 I think it might help if I had more amps but don't have 220V had hard time getting filler to melts that's why I hit tungsten and took forever to create puddle. It was thicker aluminum was just practicing but think I need some thinner stuff since I can't get lan...
