Re: Amps showing up on display while welding
Those types of movements are too complicated to develop any type of consistency. Think Chopsticks rather than Rimski-Korsakov. You have to do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4MMUpjcqkQ Before you do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8alxBofd_eQ You gotta play chopsticks before you get to...

Re: Amps showing up on display while welding
Possibly pausing in the corner is only for mig. Esab shows a 'Christmas tree' with pauses on the walls http://www.esabna.com/euweb/mig_handbook/592mig7_20.htm They say to try to move the angle do the rod do not wear in angle too much on the sides (it must create gas protection problems when passing ...

Best budget tool to cut and etch (and cut for usual work) ?
I'd like to find a "not too expensive" cutting tool that make cut and etch easier My main problem is dust so a collector would be ideal ANd also minimize heat so it is easier to finish the surface for etching It seem to be possible to use an electric metal saw, or large cutting disk (diama...

Re: Heat sensitive?
Hi !
)
I seem to notice that it was easy to get undercut when I used the back of a cross block that was not very thick ( 2x 1/8)
Could it be that the much heated metal is now very soft and sensitive to heat ? (proof in the pudding !)
Best

Re: Amps showing up on display while welding
Turn your hand back and forth while holding the stinger, don't wave your wrist like a windshield wiper. Lift your whole wrist/arm up as you move through the weld to keep your stick angle good and prevent reaching with the electrode. That will help avoid long arcing and porosity. And yeah, those gol...

Re: Amps showing up on display while welding
Thank you for your comments and advice. Yes, particularly with 7018, I begin in the high range of amps then lower till I have a nice arc and the slag is not burned But sure it push me to move fast, yet too fast generally, I agree. On the 3f I purposely wanted to make the "Christmas tree" o...

Great answers lately. I have some food to though.
How does that look? (angle up 3/32 7018)

Re: Amps showing up on display while welding
"I think " means "I have noticed that, but I am not so sure" In my opinion, penetration and its importance is vastly overstated in welding, especially at the amateur level. The mixture ratio for filler metal to base is ideally a 70/30 mix. Therefore on a 1/8 inch weld, the penet...

Re: Amps showing up on display while welding
Those beads on the right side of the triangle are looking pretty decent. Thank you for taking time to look at them. I begun with DCEN and had some sticking while raising amps from 80 up to 95A. Those sticks. want a lot of energy to do their thing. So with EN they will need a little dig function to ...

Re: Amps showing up on display while welding
7810 up 3/32 & fillet joint.
Now it seem to be better.
If only I could have better viewing, I am not shaking, I am rolling (I forget rattle )
I can weld Stevie Wonder style!

7018 is not a vertical down rod - at least none that I've purchased on this side of the pond. Up is direction for that joint with 7018. http://www.weldtrade.pl/ok4800-25mm-p-809.html?zenid=q27fp8ri0lcsjpd2rbnpsauv06&utm_source=okazje.info&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=okazje.info Cec...

Re: Amps showing up on display while welding
Well so the arc force regulation , when there is one, , is possibly the "fine setting" ? WIth zero arc force I noticed a very buttery arc, not so unpleasant but I did put arc force back trying 10 20 30 until I find a strenght that suits my need Mixing that regulation and amps is more diff...

May be there are 2 modules, one that maintain amps when the arc enlarges, and one that add amps and tension when the stick is touching the metal. There is. The mode of operation for stick welding is called "Constant Current". There is also "Constant Voltage" and various hybrid t...

Re: Polycarbonate and glass cleaning
I only try cleaning a cover lense once. After that mine are usually beyond saving. If I don't have time to deal with it I don't even do that. Thanks, I understand better why they are sold by 10 or 50 , sound logical to change them soon, a scratched screen must be very tiring for the eyes Understand...

Re: Polycarbonate and glass cleaning
Novis plastic polish works. So does GelGloss. Both common cleaners available at most hardware stores. Those leave a very thin film? If used daily after some time there is some thickness and it is better to de grease and take out the polish before using it again. That is how it goes on shiny black p...

Re: Polycarbonate and glass cleaning
I've only used rubbing alcohol on polycarbonate. Since it is for an optical application I would not use any type of cream abrasives. It may seem like it makes a car shiny when you look At it, but those micro abrasions are just blur when you look Through them unless you have access to lense grinding...

Polycarbonate and glass cleaning
Hello ANy good tips to clean the poly-carbonate, mineral glass or gold glass of the hoods I heard an "anti scratch" product but in the end it does not look as a fine abrasive but as a silicon wax mix (pledge for instaance) if it protects against spatter that is an option So do some of you ...

Re: Amps showing up on display while welding
Usually the volts amps relationship would be inverse. as voltage goes up amps go down. I think this is the way the relationship works when you have a given voltage they are used as a reservoir for amps but if then you add volts the amps will rise I think. Regards Josh is right. As voltage increases...
