Re: When should i reverse polarity? DC+ to DC-

We keep going back to the same thing. ill agree do disagree at this point....Yes you can do it, doesn't mean its correct?. lets now change the post to the correct definition "Electrode Negative is straight polarity and Electrode Positive is reverse polarity" just so the OP knows. Since his...

Re: HTP INVERTIG 221 Cooler cord Adapted to Miller Coolmate

No you're right its just not worth it, I think im juts going to use a ICE cable and use a wireless remote to turn on the outlet. I wish i could find a switch to modify it to the front like the Coolmate 3 is. I def don't want to be calling Jeff saying i blew it up LOL

Re: Will this 100 Amp welder suit my needs?

I agree with Tweake as well but not everyone can stick sheets with rods. Also my point was you cant gasless weld 1/8" with 100amps period. not a little cold not at all. This is from Weldingtips and Tricks links to Miller for Flux core wire. Explain to me why you 'you sur as fcuk won’t need 135-...

Re: When should i reverse polarity? DC+ to DC-

Tweake is spot on, you'll never get the correct penetration. You're right we do have diff codes here in the USA but im talking about running the rod so you get the correct penetration and bead appearance, The rod doesn't care what country its in.... DCEN is absolute terrible for 6010 & 7018 look...

Re: Will this 100 Amp welder suit my needs?

Demented 3mm is almost 1/8" (10) gauge you need min 135-150 amps, no way that is going very hard IMO to do the job unless you are making multiple passes, good luck with that especially with gasses. Id look at a different welder or borrow one. 20% duty on top of it, that might be a recipe for a ...

Re: Mig Spray Transfer with C3 for Mild and Stainless Steel!

I think that's something i need to think about, i have not done that due to the inconsistency of metering the gases but at this point i might allow me to do whatever i want with any gas i want. Do you do that?

Re: When should i reverse polarity? DC+ to DC-

Thanks Dave- maybe i shouldn't of used the words "cant" i should of wrote "shouldn't" anything can be done. I stand by my post with many years of stick welding dating back to 1990. You can run anything you want on DCEN doesn't mean its correct. I'm don't want to get into a pissin...

I don't think you'll get enough out of your duty cycle to weld 3mm with a 100amp gas less welder

Re: When should i reverse polarity? DC+ to DC-

You got that right Tweake ! buy the correct rod and run it in the correct polarity and you never have to worry. I wasn't trying to come off rough that wasn't my intention but bad advice could give people bad habits forever. You are spot on that just because they can run a DC+ rod in DC- they think i...

True- C3 was expensive tho just trying to not waste any, i guess it wont use much to just give it a shot i know itll work just not for structural etc just trying to figure out if its an all around good choice.

Thanks Oscar That picture is perfect. I ordered a Invertig 221 cooler cord like the one you showed and i did some testing on the machine last night. The top left is ground (green) Top right is dead and the bottom two are both 120v legs. So im going to cut the end of the cord, snip off the white and ...

Mig Spray Transfer with C3 for Mild and Stainless Steel!?!

HI Folks, im trying to cut down on the amount on gases i am buying, Right now i have (C25) 75/25 (C10) 90/10 for Spray and (C3) 97/3 for Stainless this is all for Mig welding and 100% Argon for Tig. My question is can i dump the 90/10 and just use the C3 for both Mild Steel & Stainless Steel to ...

Re: Everlast welders or never last welders

I owned a Lincoln Square Wave 200 and with a 20% duty cycle id rather not buy it ever again. I sold it then bought a HTP INvertig 221 and its a beast. Rock Solid! i the bought a Dynasty 210DX Tig runner with the 1.3 Coolmate and it gives the HTP a run for its money. If you spend $550 to get the Mill...

Re: How old is to old to start?

Pick up TIG welding, you can do that until you're good and ready to quit. plus you'll end up with many return customers if you can get into it fast enough and good enough. People starting at 40 all the time....btw 50 isn't really that old its 2018 and people are living much longer now.

Re: HTP INVERTIG 221 Cooler cord Adapted to Miller Coolmate

You are the man Oscar- That's what i was thinking too. The Coolmate 1.3 is a 120v. I wonder if i use 1 pin for the ground and 1 pin for the hot would that work? MY HTP Invertig 221 is a 220v machine. I confirmed with miller for the Coolmate it can only take a 120v. YOU think only using 1 pin and 1 g...

Re: When should i reverse polarity? DC+ to DC-

it all depends on what stick you are using and what you welding. I'm not sure why people are saying its for penetration? i mean that's part of it but 7018 and 6010 run in only DCEP. unless you are welding in position then it doesn't matter. you cant run uphill or out of position if you are running D...

Everlast is not sold in Home Depot any more their contract was terminated. Its not unheard of for someone to have a bad experience with Everlast. AHP is pretty good for support but again not top notch but you get what you pay for as well, need to keep that in mind when buying a machine. Companies li...
