Re: Newby Question. Should I learn all 3 at once?

I'd recommend that you learn to 'gas weld' before any of these. You can also use gas to heat up and shape stuff, as well as cut with it. http://www.cutlikeplasma.com/ http://www.cutlikeplasma.com/video_library.htm https://www.tinmantech.com/ G'day guys, Here's a newbie question for you all. Arc, Mig...

Re: Acetylene

I refilled my 'B size' hobby tank of acetylene yesterday for $75 CAD in Calgary, Alberta. When I got home, the girlfriend had a surprise for me. Two more 'B size' (40 cu/ft) tanks of acetylene for free from her work place. They wanted to get rid of them, so I got them for free. I also got three very...

Re: AED?

We have these mounted on the walls throughout our buildings. We also had to take mandatory First Aid courses as well. It costs far too much to replace people. Our policy is safety first. How many of you have an AED (automatic electronic defibrillator) in your safety kit at work? It's an expensive it...

Re: Acetylene

I still use acetylene. It's a great welding gas. Years ago, my acetylene regulator failed, while welding in a warehouse. I looked over and saw 10 feet of flame rolling upward from the tank. I reached over and grabbed a pail of water and threw it at the cylinder. Problem solved. The flames went out a...

Tom, I'm in the Calgary area as well. -20C tonight.

We gave up on the turkey this year.
We made Chilli and Chimichangas to keep warm in front of the fireplace.

Santa brought me a 20ft car hauler, for all of my projects. :D

Re: Any good brands for grinding discs?

I buy my grinding disks from the local metal recyclers. These guys know exactly what works, they use it every day. I did the same thing with 'weed whacker' grass trimmers. I stop and ask the road crews along the highways. Most times, they give me healthy samples to try out. Many years ago, I had tro...

Re: Two grounds on the same work piece.

How fast is electricity? Slower than you might think...

In a direct current circuit, it takes an electron over an hour to pass thru a meter of wire.
In an alternating circuit, the electrons vibrate and will not actually pass thru the wire.

Let's start with the basics. What is the model number and serial number? Have you opened it up and inspected it for obvious signs of damage? Have you done a smell test, to help locate damaged electrical components? Can you upload a few photos of your plasma cutter? It might help... Hey guys! I've go...
