Re: Where to buy metal in NC : Shelby to Rutherfordton
I'm still pretty new to North Carolina and live near Pilot Mountain north of Winston-Salem so the only place over your way I've done business with is Race City Steel in Denver, NC.

Re: New member, Upstate NY
Ahh, the far end of the Adirondacks from us. We used to spend a lot of time in the stretch from Stillwater to Big Moose Recreation are and north to St Lawrence County. We're thinking about maybe doing the paddle/portage bit on the Fulton Chain of Lakes next year. What kind of welding are you doing/i...

Welcome from Pinnacle, North Carolina. We sold our farm outside Auburn, NY and moved to our NC place two years ago. Where in the Adirondacks are you?

Re: Welders and generators
I suspect that the question boils down to how much of the maximum input current you'll actually be drawing. If most of your welding is done with 1/8" or smaller rods you should be fine with the Stickmate. And as your wire feeder only draws 21 amps/4800 watts you'll be fine with it at any output...

Re: 6-Gauge Wire for Welder Extension Cord?
I suspect that the reason you are unlikely to see a 6 ga. cord is that there are darn few things that draw that much power that aren't hard wired and stationary. And unless you will be spending a significant amount of your welding time running long beads near the top of the machines capability you'l...

Welcome from Pinnacle, North Carolina. You've asked a lot of questions that would be better asked in a thread or threads titled to reflect what info you are looking for. even if someone stumbles on your questions most folks just aren't going to work to dig your questions out of a big run-on paragrap...

Welcome from Pinnacle, North Carolina.
Your cart is pretty similar to one I was thinking of making a while back. Given the silly cost of most factory carts and how poor the space utilization is I suspect yo will have a lot more usable cart for about half or less what a factory one cost.

Good morning, Graham and welcome from Pinnacle, North Carolina, USA. As a teenager my Dad imported bicycles from India (from Tube Investments, part of the same company as Raleigh in England) and we spent some time there, mostly Mumbai back when it was Bombay and in Madras along with a little in Sri ...
