I'll have to give those a try Richard, Funny that we use aluminum oxide coated products to remove the aluminum oxide layer that cause so many issues. ;)

Re: Tight arch???? Please teach me!

I hear ya Bill, some days are worse than others. A steady rest and a ever so slight lift of the torch when adding filler seems to help but not totally eliminate dipping. :( I used to compete in Hi Power and Benchrest, shooting off hand in Hi Power took some getting used to way back when, now days if...

Re: Very unhappy with Miller 625

It's a shame that a lot of manufacturers now days drop their support for their products so soon.. I had a Syncrowave 250 years ago the the main board failed, ended up finding a company that rebuilds them for a lot less than a replacing with a new one.

Re: grill for fire pit

Looks awesome Craig, what are the dimensions of those side panels? We have a old Whalen fire pit that has seen better days, thinking about making something a little more heavy duty than a store bought one. :)

Welcome! Make sure you practise before you attempt any welds on that kettle, I have a 15 gal Spike, their kettles and in house welders do nice work.

Re: If your newest favorite welder let you down.........

Hopefully you will have better luck with the replacement machine, I don't don't care what machine you buy none of them are perfect or service free. Some of the old time transformer based monsters were and are pretty darned reliable, inverters don't seem to be as robust has the older gen machines. Bu...

For being just two hours into learning how to tig weld it looks like your catching on fairly quick.. Like the other advised turn up your post flow, I'm not familiar with your power supply but it looks like you have the amperage set at 95?? Start out with 10 seconds and do a few beads and check out y...

Looks great Motox! Love those old 2 strokes, I just sold a 1980 YZ 465 a few years ago to a collector. He has two huge barns with two levels full of bikes. He has bikes both street and dirt with the tits still on the original tires and about six brands I had never even heard of, place is like a muse...

Re: Tungsten grinding question.

I found a Liquid Gold grinder used about ten years ago for a pretty good price, I had to get a new diamond wheel and a few other parts to make it right but it does work good. Not so sure I would spend the money to buy one brand new as they are proud as He!! of those things. http://i1371.photobucket....

Re: Adding Helium?

I can't think of a steel, or stainless application where cost is justified. I don't pay $15 difference for a full sized bottle of Argon to a 75Ar/25He. I keep hearing that its "super expensive" to use Helium, but its not so in my experience. And, for giggles, right before Xmas I had to re...

Two stroke 110 octane and Motul 800 oil :) And it is loud even with a silencer on it, and don't even think about running on your yard as it will destroy it with a set of super spikes on the back. lol I'm actually thinking about selling it, because it's hard to find a larger enough place to run and i...
