I have had 3 shoulder surgeries, 2 right 1 left. 8 weeks will be the minimum, depending on what you have had done. Expect anything from 6 to 12 months to get full strength and movement back, also depends on what you have had done By week 4 hopefully you will, if the surgery is your dominate hand ach...

OHSA,

In days past this would not have happened.
So what do these lucky birthlings do?
They become politicians and OHSA officers.

Re: WTF is penetration

If that is just a butt weld with no beveling that's not too bad.
If you want the best penetration bevel the edges at 35 to 45 deg with a 1/4 inch leg length, might end up a multi pass fill but it will have penetration.
Amazing how much heat thick aluminium can soak up eh.

Re: Bobcat 250 and metal thickness

Gowinski, Sit down, grab your beverage of choice, get on Jodies site and watch his videos on what you want to do. Thick material when starting out is an advantage, once you get competent running a bead you can work your way down in thickness and rod size and try some thinner material. 1/8 would prob...

Bear, I have used both types, I prefer battery powered. IMO they are a higher quality. Look for something that switches in 1/25000 th of a second or quicker and has 4 sensors. You lot have a much greater range available to you than us at the arse end of the world, so hopefully someone local will chi...

Re: Best way to cut sheet metal?

What width and thickness of sheet? Aluminium or steel? For thin sheet up to 40 thou steel, 60 thou aluminium one of the 3 in 1 press brake, shear, slip roller do a reasonable job. They come in 12 and 30 inch widths. Not a bad option for the prices you guys can get them for and surprisingly useful. E...

Tatwa Obi, Welcome to the forum. I believe we are having a language issue. You have described what you have done and the machine you used and the unsatisfactory results. What exactly are you asking the forum? Can you post photos? I'm not sure what the liability laws are in Cameroon, most western cou...

Nelson, Can you get shocked doing tig? Yes, if you make yourself part of the circuit, don't wear any protective gear, with bare feet while standing in a puddle of water. I exaggerate slightly but you get the picture, it can happen, but usually because of a machine, connection or safety issue, its no...

Ah the old SR500, the base of many specials. 304 stainless is perfect for your application. My Moto Guzzi LeMans has had a Staintune exhaust for the last 26 years, its made from 304. It will take on a mild gold patina in all but the high temp areas, these will initially blue and eventually go grey/b...

They had a story on Australian news last night regarding a veterans ride to a Trump convention.
They mentioned there were over 23 million veterans in the US.
I found that interesting as Australia's population has just cracked 24 million.
Lest we forget.

Now is the time to try some other joints.
Butt, lap, tee and some tube.
If you produce similar results on all those mozzy will have to make room for me in the plankton section.

As a weekend warrior the biggest issue you'll face is seat time. You'll have a run where you'll get to a point where you'll start getting happy with your welds and comfortable with the process, all good. Then there will be a bit of a hiatus where nothing needs welding. Your next attempt will show ju...
