Re: Buying an A/C Tig

I haven't had any issues with my Everlast. Combo unit, stick, plasma and Tig work perfectly. I just didnt think ahead, and now realize I want/need A/C Tig. Features and specs on the Everlast Powertig 200DV and AHP AlphaTig 200x are really close, but AHP is 300.00 cheaper. Warranty is longer on Everl...

Buying an A/C Tig

Not trying to start a whole "Buy American" debate, but............. Already have a Lincoln MIG. Have an Everlast TIG/Plasma/Stick. Need/want an AC Tig machine. Trying to decide between Everlast PowerTig 200DV, AHP Alphatig 200X, and Lotos 200A. Alot of similar specs, features. All for home...

Re: Garage wiring for welder 220/240 Volt

Don't know which model you have, I have the PowerUltra 205. 200a Tig/Stick, 50a plasma. Running off a 30a breaker, 220/240v. I also switch that with a 180a mig welder. Neither unit has had any problems with that size breaker.

Re: Making design/comfort tweaks to welding machines

I had the same problem with my red, but I just cut a little piece off each hinge, and now I open it just a little bit and it comes off. Still hinged, but easily removable without opening it more than a few inches. I like your solution though, because my way, I have to stand the cover somewhere out o...

Re: Anyone use Simadre?

I tried a few of the 3-in-1 models (bad unit, return, another bad one), gave up. Bad units, excellent customer service.

Re: New to Tig Welding

So far the Everlast multi-process (Tig Stick Plasma) has worked just fine. 200amp welding, 50amp cutting covers a lot of jobs. Only drawback I have is DC Tig only. Other models do have AC Tig. Good value for the price.

Re: Everlast Super Ultra 205 Review and Description

The disconnect fitting they supplied wouldn't work with my air hose. It was the right diameter, but the wall thickness was too thin to depress the valve inside. Maybe european fitting? The quick disconnect fittings I used were male and female from home depot, universal size

Re: Everlast Super Ultra 205 Review and Description

I looked all through Tractor Supply - do you have a part number or item number? I want a few of them. I just switched from the SuperUltra205 to the PowerUltra205P. Didn't have the money right now for an AC/DC Tig machine, but the PowerUltra at least has 2 pulse settings, and I can set max amps on th...

Definitely not an expert, but I would think 10cfh is to low. Try increasing it to about 15 - 20?

Re: Linccoln Pro Mig 180

Was curious, so I checked - the gun nozzle and the spool gun nozzle are both about flush with the tip. I'm only familiar with Lincoln, their design works fine for me, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Re: TIG Welding Aluminum on DC

Been trying, not a whole lot of success. That's why I asked about the gas - trying to find out if my lack of success is due to my skill level, or if just won't work without straight helium, and I'm just wasting my time.

Re: Linccoln Pro Mig 180

I have the Lincoln weldpak 180 with the screw on nozzle. I have had no problems either flux core or mig with the setup. Gas coverage seems to be fine, no splatter problems, etc..... I would have to go look to verify whether it is flush or not.If memory serves me correct, it might just be flush, or d...

Re: TIG Welding Aluminum on DC

I understand limitations due to machine size. I have a 200amp inverter machine, so I know the max thickness, single pass / multiple passes, etc.... again, wondering / wanting to know if Helium is absolutely necessary, or makes it easier. Example - if I wanted to do fillet welds on .125", is a 2...

Re: TIG Welding Aluminum on DC

Most important question is - Can it be done with Argon, and not helium. Settings would depend on material thickness of course,
but in my efforts, am I wasting my time by trying it with only argon.

Re: TIG Welding Aluminum on DC

Does anybody have any success DCEN Tig welding Aluminum using straight Argon, and if so, what machine settings? I don't have access to Helium, don't want to buy it for limited aluminum jobs. My machine is DC only. Rather not spend more to upgrade to an Ac machine. My Mig spool gun os ok for some job...
