Hey guys
There's a few companies in my area that do 1/2 schedule 40 carbon pipe as one of their tests.
Along with 2 and depending on the company 3 or 6.

The smallest I've done is 2" schedule 40 carbon and Schedule 10 stainless and I'm pretty comfortable with that size and up.

But 1/2 schedule 40 it's so damn small, I want to get some practice in before I head in for a test in a few weeks.

First question is what fit up would be typical for this size pipe

Then is this a one pass weld or would you aim for a root and a cap pass.

Idk I'm just looking for a starting point, it will be x-rayed it's in the 6G position.
It's carbon most likely 70S6 3/32 2.4mm wire.

Any guidance would be appreciated

This is in Ireland btw not the US.
