Uphill kicking my ass

Man I moved on from horizontal spray transfer to dual shield uphill and it's kicking my ass here. Frustrating cause every once in awhile I'll get a perfect 3 inch 3 pass and then it all just goes to shit even though I feel like I am doing the same things. Any tips? I hear guys say stay ahead of the puddle but not sure what that means

It means have a slight upward angle on the torch and focus the wire into the leading edge of the puddle. Speed is critical to maintain consistency with wire feeders.
