First aluminum TIG project

These are aluminum exhaust manifolds for a marine application. They are water jacketed and I made plugs and fitted and welded to seal off anti-freeze side from the raw water side.

Thanks for posting these pics. I like how you recessed the plugs, to allow building up material on top of and around the perimeter of the plug, to get deeper weld penetration. For some reason I don't think I would have thought to do that. With TIG I am learning that you have such an amazing amount of heat control, that you can build up material where you want it so easily.
