What welding projects are you working on? Are you proud of something you built?
How about posting some pics so other welders can get some ideas?

Hey welders I'm building an ornamental fire pit for a contest and having trouble getting all my compound angles lined up. Anyone have any shop tricks for this sort of thing? The frame is made from angle and the interior "mesh" will be cut from stamped ss. I'm new and kind of lost but we've got some pros here.

How are you doing it now? What equipment? How are you laying it out?

Measure three times, cut once ;)

I don't think I saw any compound angles in that video. I'm sure one could argue they're there, but...

In a case like the video example, I imagine those sections of angle-iron as square sections or even pipe, and mitre (or miter--an English v. American thing on another topic... ) them the same as I would a square tube in the same location.

If I missed a top-view that showed a rectangular fire-pit, rather than square, that would complicate things slightly.
